Attention: Jack Donovan, Creator of this Blog has Died...
OK, now that I have your attention here's the deal. When a person accepts Christ in their heart they become a new creation in Christ. The old man (or woman) dies. Because of Christ's personal sacrifice my past is forgotten and I can start over. We are forgiven because of God's grace and that alone, not because of anything we do.
"For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin"— Romans 6:6
"Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory." Romans 8:17

I'm so glad you're not really dead!
Thanks Brooke, that's sweet. I'm glad I'm not dead as well :)
I did like your post. My problem is that even though "Old Brooke" has died I often see glimpses of her seeping through the cracks. It requires constant prayer and fighting to shake off those old feelings and ideas that tend to come back. It's very hard living in such a materialistic and sinful world! I am so very thankful we have such a forgiving God :) And, thankful to have you to write these encouraging posts!
Thanks Brooke, we all struggle with the old man or woman trying to revive themselves. It is indeed hard in todays world but thank the Lord he loves us and is always waiting for us to return to where we need to be. Thanks for commenting I love when people post their thoughts.
Wow, you left a comment on my blog FirefighterBlog.com and when I visited your blog I saw you were dead.
Oh man, bad joke. I immediately felt pain for your wife and two beautiful kids in the profile picture.
Glad you are OK. I did wonder though how you got a headstone the day after you croaked.
Be well.
Mike,
Sorry about that; that's funny though. God bless!
Jack
I did not know what to think when I read your latest blog. My heart came up in my throat. I thought I had lost one of my dearest friends, a friend that I'm very, very close to. Thank the Lord your not really dead.
Thanks Eric for the heartfelt comment; I appreciate your friendship.
I hate this post. It's not funny when your Dad's blog says that he died!
Sorry Jackie, the intent was to make people curious enough to read the post. I am glad though that you don't want me dead. :)
I guess the photo and caption title are more powerful than my words. I pray that this blog does help somebody. I want this to be a ministry to those dealing with problems or issues.
Jack
Brooke told me about your new post , she was'nt kidding it really gets your attention. That must have been a little freaky for your family. I'm glad your still alive.
Thanks Gina, it has caused a little stir. Thanks for commenting. Sometimes I have to allow God to kill that old man in me often, he seems to know how to revive himself.
Jack,
You always amaze me how creative you are on the blog. I have to agree with everyone though, I did not like seeing a head stone with your name on it! But your point was made well. Funy what goes through your mind when you see that. Good thing God keeps His arms open for us and continues to work on the good work He began in us.
Blessings to you and Karla,
Karen
Thanks Karen
